Your new holiday resort: Lambrecht/Pfalz

Highlights:

  • Former cloth manufacturer town, today, Lambrecht is a small town for tourism (still a insider tip) in the east of the Palatinate Forest (Pfälzer Wald) with a nice city centre and interesting buildings out of former epochs
  • Number of inhabitants: approx. 4500
  • Distance to the forest from everywhere not longer than a 10-minutes-walk
  • Ideal starting point for taking a stroll and wandering (for example to the shacks with hospitality, or to the near located partially castles, like the Spangenburg and the Wolfsburg)  
  • Ideal starting point for bicycle tours (in the Palatinate Forest or through Neustadt and fields and forests to Speyer)
  • Ideal starting point to have a look at the Palatinate castles (for example Trifels, Berwartstein, Hardenburg and so on-especially recommended for adults with children or teenagers)
  • Ideal starting point to visit
    • Wine-villages along the German Wine Street (Deutschen Weinstraße) (for example Deidesheim, Haardt, Hambach and so on) and the for tourists interesting towns
    • Neustadt/Weinstraße (with very nice, romantically old parts of town with good gastronomy, the historical Hambacher Schloss (Palace) and in autumn the big German wine festival and the  wine-grower-procession),
    • Speyer (famous emperor-cathedral - world culture heritage, historical museum, nice old parts of town, Car- and  Technology-Museum, IMAX-Cinema) and
    • Heidelberg (Palace, nice old parts of town)
  • Two Adventure Parks near Lambrecht:
    • Kurpfalz-Park Wachenheim (Venison- and Adventure Park, approx. 7 km far away) and
    • Holiday Park Haßloch (approx. 20 km far away)
  • Possibilities for further attraction and activities, for example:
    • Visit of the Papermaker- and Nativmuseum at Frankeneck (with the traditional making of paper and visiting of the Papermaker-Factory)   
    • Ride with the historical "Kuckucksbähnel" (old train) through the nice Elmstein valley
    • Every 5 years on Pentecost: Visit of the “Geißbockspiel”, which is the biggest historical open-air performance in the south-west of Germany (in the other years, there is a kind of a native festival)
