It is also a famous university-city and has a very good reputation to study medicine.
It has a nice, old city centre with old parts of the town. It is always nice to visit the christmas market there or just have a walk across or along the river Neckar.
The sight you should have seen there is the Heidelberger Schloss (Palace) from where you have a wonderful view through the Neckar-valley and over the town.
